Did anyone see the more recent BBC trip up the Thames recreating the book, with Griff Rhys Jones, Rory whateverhisname is and AN Other (I'm really into this as you can tell)

Actually, I thought it was really very funny and had me laughing out loud at times - not too much modern TV does that (except hysterically)

The memorable third man in the boat was Irish comedian Dara O'Briain.
It did have its moments, but they copped out & took easy short cuts too often (taking a tow from a motor boat, spending a night in a hotel)

Steve

Sounds like the book.

As I recall JJ & Co hitched a tow on a steam launch and lodged in a bed and breakfast when the local hotels were full

Are you a policeman who cannot get his mind off the job? 'copy that'?

Only policemen use the word 'copy' to indicate they have seen or received (got) something.

Now someone trying to slyly let people know he has a copy available to sell might use the word.:

This title has not been requested so please do not try to advertsie the fact you have copied it.

?????????????????????????????????????????

I dunno what the above is all about, who it is aimed at or what brought it on but since we are on the subject,,,,,,

I copy DVDs; ripping and burning is for 13 year old geeks who are into computers but have yet to discover girls.

And (he warms to his theme), being on default does not mean that you have done the right thing, it means that you have seriously narked the headmaster and are currently standing outside his study while he selects his favourite rattan cane.
