Default Mr Horatio Knibbles

Hi first off as a newbie to this site can I say hello to all and secondly -

Many years ago I recorded from TV the above film which quickly became my daughters favourite (she was only young at the time!) It was such a favourite that she, along with the rest of the family became almost word perfect in her ability to remember the lines!!

Eventually though the video got er 'lost' at which we all expressed our disapointment! However as my daughter is now much older and of course does not live here i feel it is safe to purchase a copy as a momento for her of her childhood unfortunately no one seems to have it for sale.

Has anyone any idea as to where I can get a copy from?

Hi to all out there,

I am new to this posting business and just hope that I am doing it right.

I am now 25 years of age and have been searching for a film from my childhood called Mr. Horatio Knibbles. It is from the story by Wally Boscoe (AKA Wallace Bosco). The film is about Mr Horatio Knibbles who is a magic rabbit that only Mary Bunting can see. Some jewellery belonging to Mary's mother goes missing and with the help of Mr Knibbles and his friends, squirrel, pigeon and magpie the real culprit is found. Mary Bunting's parents refuse her a rabbit as a birthday present. Disconsolately, Mary is sitting alone when to her surprise and delight a six foot rabbit-elegantly dressed in frock coat and fancy waistcoat-appears, and introduces himself as Mr Horatio Knibbles. As he is a magic rabbit, he can be seen only by Mary, which naturally creates great confusion and misunderstanding.

All I have found out about the actual film is that is was made in 1971 and directed by Robert Hird. The genre is comedy/fantasy/family. Writing credits were given to Peter Blackmore and Wallace Bosco. The credited cast are:
Lesley Roach ~ Mary Bunting
Gary Smith ~ Tom
Rachel Brennock ~ Nancy
John Ash ~ Bob
Nigel Chivers ~ Derek
David Richards ~ Billy
Anthony Shepard ~ Horatio Knibbles
Bernard Horsfall ~ Mr Bunting
Jane Jordan Rogers ~ Mrs Bunting
Fred Evans ~ PC Briggs
David Lodge ~ Sergeant
Freddie Jones ~ Gamekeeper

I hope that anyone who has any information about this film or where I can get a copy would be fantastic. I would be amazed if anyone could find me a copy somewhere..even if it is to prove to my boyfriend that it is not in my imagination and I am not totally nuts!

Here's hoping.

Regards to all, thanks, Jennie.

Wonderful!! I've been searching for 'Ahhh, mummy, mummy, mummy!' for years! Have bored everyone to death in my hunt and more than a few people think me a little bit strange for going on about a film with a six foot bunny. Every Christmas I've been hoping to video it but alas some evil man has decided to stop showing it. And then I remembered the internet... Would it be possible to get a copy too?
