The Jack Hylton archive is held at Lancaster University. The curator is Helen Clish

It might be worth contacting her.

Also, "Make mine a million" already released on VHS by DD video and dvd by Optimum (in the recent Sid James box set) is also a Jack Hylton production released through British Lion. Perhaps whoever licenced this also holds rights to Ramsbottom?

I tried them and they weren't very helpful. The rights are currently divided between two companies.

I'd also be interested in seeing Arthur's 1959 film FRIENDS AND NEIGHBOURS. Does anyone know of a copy anywhere?

I've seen nearly every film of Arthur Askey but Ramsbottom Rides Again becomes more appealing as time goes by!! If ever it comes out on DVD I'm sure it will not be disappointing as all his other films are great. Fingers crossed we won't all be too old to appreciate if it finally appears for sale!! Lawrie

The acknowledgment to Mark C Bale in The Complete Sid James book is for a VHS copy of Ramsbottom Rides Again. So there is at least one copy on the loose.

Might be worth trying Mr Ross.
