Does anyone know or know of a website that shows which of the 70's sex comedies are currently available on DVD. I recently got the book "Keeping the British end up" and was amazed at how many were made. Just wondering really which of them are on DVD. I searched Play.com and found a couple films with Valerie Leon in and the Confessions films but there must be alot more.

A few (such as ZETA ONE and CAN YOU KEEP IT UP FOR A WEEK ?) are listed for release in the first quarter of this year on the Jezebel DVD label ; they've been available across the pond for a while now. I can only assume that they didn't do too well there, given that there were no follow up releases after the first batch.

I can't see that the Yanks would be too interested anyway. Afterall it was us that made these films.

I once worked for Redemption/Jezebel (back in the 90s) and we issued several on UK video, then some of the more popular titles on DVD. We were able to secure a US distribution deal, so many are also available on American DVD via Image Entertainment.

However, there are dozens more which probably won't be seeing the light of day anytime soon due to rights complications, so the only source for these would be video.

I've been collecting these for ages, so I have most that were available on video. However, there are some notable exceptions which never made it to video, even back in the halcyon pre-certification days.

I'm afraid you're quite wrong! I know of many US collectors who have an unhealthy interest in British sexploitation movies. Likewise, UK collectors who enjoy early US sleaze (myself included).

Hi there.

Psychotronic Video magazine in the States that one of the biggest responses they ever got to one of Michael J. Weldon's reviews was that for Queen Kong. And apparently the reason for the response was the popularity of one Robin Askwith over the water. Apparently he has a farily sizeable cult following in the States. Any of our American members know anything about this? More importantly, is Askwith aware of it?
