Default The Black Windmill

Would anyone have a copy of 'The Black Windmill' with Michael Cain? I'm also looking for copies of Fred Zimmeman's 'Julia', Lumet's 'The Deadly Affair' and Wim Venders' (I think) 'Hammett'. I know that not all are strictly British but I've been looking everywhere. Anyone point me in the right direction here?

Carter, The Black Windmill is coming out on DVD in the UK soon. Got to love Don Siegel's films, but this was one that made me think what was he thinking? And Caine is really stiff in it - the shot where he has to wink - even that looked stiff.

Universal are releasing it, so it will probably be in its full 2.35:1 Widescreen ratio.

I agree it's not one of their best (Cain or Siegal) but I remember it fondly from my childhood. Having watched mostly US thillers when I was very young, this is about the first thiller I remember seeing that is set in the UK, in a town not unlike the one I lived in. All very exciting to me then. Plus it had hovercrafts in it and John Vernon. I'll wait for the DVD release.

Best regards

John Vernon rocks! He's great in Siegel's Charley Varrick - the conversation by the cow-field is one of the classic scenes in cinema. "Man, look at the juggs on that one!"

Default Thanks Chaps

I got The Black Windmill from the site you suggested. It's not great but interesting none the less. I managed to get Julia and Hammet from a US web site mentioned in reply to one of my other requests. I also got a copy of Rough Cut from Amazon marketplace.
