I've only ever seen this once and that was years ago.Have been patiently waiting for it to come around on TV again but to no avail,along with GUMSHOE.
This is the one where he's returning to the north and in the end floats off in a hot-air balloon,isn't it?

Yes he travels back to Manchester up the motorway stopping off at what was then a fairly new concept of the service station and then there was film of him in and around that 60s Manchester icon, The Piccadilly Hotel.

Has Charlie Bubbles (1969) ever been issued on DVD or video?
Albert Finney was superb as was Billie Whitelaw as Lottie Bubbles. A great cast including Liza Minnelli!
