I'm in the process of going through the (Unindexed) personal papers of Adrian Brunel at the BFI Special Collections...he edited and titled Bolibar with long-term collaborator Ivor Montagu....I've not come across Bolibar thus far, but if I do, I will let you know if I find anything relevant.
Summers was a good and well-regarded director, so fingers crossed it survives somewhere....

Default Malta Filming

Hi,

Thought I would add to this thread.

The film of The Sweeney, starring John Thaw etc... was filmed on Malta.

It was filmed a new hotel complex just outside Slimea.

There was also the WWII film "Malta Story" which featured filming in the catacombes of Valetta.

If you are interesed I can give you copies of both.

Regards

Chris

Also, as you are probably already aware, the scenes of the Graf Spee, in Powell and Pressburger's Battle of the River Plate, were filmed in the Grand Harbour...

It was Jean Pierre that told me :)
I then reported it to the P&P group and now you've brought it full circle.

It seems that the new two-parter on BBC1, Blackbeard starring James Purefoy, has been filmed on (or off) Malta.
