Default Great Silent Films Hard-To-Find.
I'm looking for - on the PAL system which has far far fewer greats silents available - Greed, Blackmail (ok a silent with added talk), The Crowd, Sunrise.. Any ideas?

There's a good DVD of Blackmail available from Amazon in Germany

It includes both sound & silent versions and includes Hitch doing sound screen test with Anny Ondra

Dear Lambchopnixon:

I'm beginning to sound like a broken record - but Robert's has all the films you mention except Sunrise. Perhaps you ought to just log onto his site and see what he has, as he seems to have a lot of films that you want.

If you have the capability of transferring NTSC films into PAL, a lot of the films that people are looking for are available in my country. He's just the only one I know of who does PAL. He can be very slow and very expensive though.

hanks for the info. On second thoughts, as these are ones i've seen and like a lot, i'd rather get originals than recordings. In a minute i'll add all the ones that i HAVEN'T seen and WOULD like recordings of!! And you'lle probably tell me about Robert:)
