Default George Formby films

Hi Everyone

Does anyone have any George Formby video's for sale?, films copied directly from TV would be fine. I've tried e-bay and other places but the tapes are just too expensive. I'd be very much in debt to anyone who could help me out with this.

Thanks

Brian..

Hi.
Can anyone help me complete my George Formby movie collection.
Looking for Feather Your Nest 1937 and He Snoops To Conquer 1944, tv recorded will be OK. Also a copy of Laburnum Grove, 1936 a Carol Reed movie with Edmund Gwenn. Happy to pay or swap if there is something I have.

Rupert - welcome to the site, but....the convention here and on every other site I use is that ALL CAPITALS is considered shouting and rude.

However, if you're a George Formby fan I'll forgive you just this once!

Hello Rob,
I beg your pardon, it's a habit - I was once a draughtsman - thanks for enlightening me.

Hi Rupert
Thanks for the reply/ offer. I did find copies of both these films, Snoops - from e bay not a bad copy, Feather Your Nest from another collector, not quite as good but passable! The later is a great little film as well, does anyone know why this never got a video release along with most of the others?

An American company called Nostalgia family video have three pages of Formby films listed as being available.
DD entertainment (in this country) issued a number of George's films on VHS. Maybe they aren't available now but I would have thought it's worth contacting them to try to find out if they have any plans to re-issue them as dvds.

Someone on ebay is selling 19 george formby films for only 99p with £4 p+p.
How cheap do you want them OR do you want vhs tapes as these appear to be on DVDs.

Anyone know whether DD's release of Boots Boots scheduled for January is the full version that was rediscovered a couple of years ago, or is it the cut 1938 reisssue print that's been in general circulation? If the latter, I doubt whether there will be much demand after all the bootlegs that have been offered on ebay in recent years. Here's hoping that it is the full version!

Best wishes
Mike (MrT)
