Isn't this where the BFI, should step in ? A major British director and a major British Actress "perhaps the finest peeformance on the screen ever given by an English actress" (C.A. Lejeune The Observer 6th Oct. '57) - surely enough to merit their involvement, no ?

Hi, in this film about 20 minutes in there's a Pub scene where what sounds like an old Music hall number is being sung, Amy does with gusto, my question is does anyone know the title of this song at all?, It's a bit difficult to decipher the lyrics, but it seems to go something like.........

I'd like to be with you, with you sweetheart
    Antonionio and his ivory cart

As I say I couldn't understand fully the lyric, I've tried googling without any success, any ideas anyone?

    Thanks Kevin.

I think I heard a snippet of the song on Radio 2 a few months ago, when Babs Windsor was standing in for Elaine Paige but it didn't click at the time.
