I'd love to see this one too - I have everything else Norman did apart from this one elusive film. It was shown publicly a few years ago in the town where it was made so it definitely exists.

This film has been the subject of various threads on Britmovie in the past - it has seemed to be unavailable, but one suggestion was that I looked on I-Offer, where it was being advertised.

I bought it from a seller (who shall be nameless) and it turned out to be another film of the same name - despite it being offered as the Norman Wisdom film. The seller has gone quiet and I'm trying to get my money back!

There are other sellers on the same site offering it, but I'm not that keen now! I haven't ever had a problem with I-Offer in the past.

Does anyone have this film, or have you successfully managed to buy or acquire it from anyone? Any advice very welcome - I'm keen to see it because some of it was filmed very close to where I live.

    Many thanks all.

The other film with the same title must have been the Kirk Douglas / Henry Fonda Western from around 1971.

Actually it wasn't, Darren - it was a black and white US film of the same name that looks like a tv film, possibly. I've never seen it before and IMDB has no record of it. The thing is, that the film I bought was advertised as the Norman Wisdom one - which this one clearly isn't!

The seller has just promised to refund through Paypal, so we'll see.

In the meantime - does anyone have this film.....?

    Thanks all

It definitely exists because a few years ago it was shown to the general public in the town where it was made. I'd love to see it too.

I oredered three films from this same dealer on eBay, and in each case the film advertised was not the one sent, but another of the same name(all from the Alpha catalogue, I think). Apart from the lost Wisdom film, one of the others was I think Monsoon, but not the George Nader version I wanted. Happily he refunded via Paypal very quickly, and withdrew the films.

Some info that may be of interest to NW fans. Having viewed the numerous threads on the missing NW title I can only say that during the last Christmas break I and others were gathered around a laptop in our local pub watching There Was A Crooked Man on a movie streaming site. I understand that the film was available to watch on-line or download and one of the group did in fact download it. Secondly, I have seen a DVD available for sale on Amazon - it was described as a Greek newspaper promo DVD with english dialogue and available other subtitles.
