Default Kids TV series, early 70s...Wacko?

Does anyone remember a TV series from the early '70s...I think it was called something like 'Wacko'. It featured an old school teacher with an exaggerated/comical moustache.

I was sure it was called 'Wacko' but I can't find any references to a TV show of that title.

If you need to look up "Whacko" starring Jimmy Edwards you are looking in the wrong decade. The films were made in the late 50's and the T.V. series in the 60's. I can't think of any other t.v. show that fits the bill.

IMDb lists a 'Whack-O' series between 1971-72 featuring Julian Orchard and Harold Bennett.
I cannot recall ever seeing a remake of 'Whack-O' but I do remember watching episodes from the Jimmy Edwards series as a lad. They were great fun.

Unfortunately, I believe that there are no existing copies of this series to be found.

Dave.

BOTTOMS UP ! (ABPC, 1960) was the movie spin-off of the WHACKO! tv series....

If this title had been used in the mid-1970s, it would have implied another type of film entirely !

Hi Dave, the first series of Whack-o were from 1956 to 60 b/w with Arthur Howard as Pettigrew, the later 70s series with Julian Orchard as Pettigrew in colour.I have one episode of the 70s shows, not the best quality but still watchable if anyone else out there has any others please send me a PM

This may be so but all the same he won the DFC, flew supply drops on D-Day and at Arnhem. In my book that makes him a better man than I could ever hope to be.
