Default BBC COVERAGE OF MOONLANDINGS james burke

Hi There

I was looking on youtube yesterday and found some clips on there of the BBC TV coverage of the Apollo Moon landings from the 1960s and 1970s.

In some of the clips the BBC 4 logo can be seen in the corner.

Does anyone know if some of the Original footage with James Burke and co was repeated recently (and I missed it !!!) on BBC4 ,...?

If anyone did see it and/or has this on DVD can they PM me or contatc me via the Board

Cheers

Mike

I think I'm right in saying that the actual transmissions from the surface of the moon were never recorded onto videotape, as they were live pictures (as in a news broadcast).

So the only pictures we can now see of Neil Armstrong making his giant leap are poor quality films from one of NASA's monitors.

See this thread:

http://www.britmovie.co.uk/forums/lo...-remember.html

What BBC footage remains of the Apollo 11 mission was cobbled together and made into a 2 hour special which was shown on BBC 4 last year.

I'm not sure what if anything is left of coverage of the other moon landing missions.
