Default hugh falkus film
Does anyone have a copy of 'Self-Portrait of a Happy Man (1976)' the semi-autobiographical short by the late Hugh Falkus veteran nature writer,broadcaster and film maker... I know it's a long shot!

While i'm at it, i'm still looking for the episode of kids tv show 'shadows' called 'the other window'.........and mini series Diana with Jenny Seagrove...

Bump! Bump! Oliver Kite and other old fishing films/documentaries from the 60s/70s/80s too.... (i believe one of those old 'shell' films may have been Oliver kite..)

Malcolm Falcus lives out here. He doesn't have copies of his father's films, but the writer of the biography, Chris Newton, does. If you'd like to contact Mr Newton, Malcolm would be happy to endorse you as I have painted a vivid picture of the moral and intellectual qualifications required for membership of this forum.

Mr Newton has been helpful to other Falcus researchers who have been introduced in this way.

Aaron,
I'm meeting Chris Newton here in Ireland tomorrow night, at a book signing for his new Hugh Falkus autobiography. Falkus made a famous short film "Shark Island" in 1951, filmed here on Achill Island.
I'll ask him about this film on your behalf and let you know the outcome...

I have to say, Hugh Falkus was and remains a bit of an icon for me...!!
