hi,
i wonder if anyone can help me find a vhs copy of the c 4 documentary called "dee-construction"?
as far as i can remember it was first shown on channel 4 on the 31st of dec and it was about the rise and fall of famous chatshow host "simon dee" who of course hosted "dee-time" in the mid 1960's but fell from favour and never recovered his former status.

there was also a one off "dee-time" show after dee-contruction which featured peter wygarde of jason king fame
and cleo roccos.
if anyone has a spare copy of both those shows i would be grateful cause i never got the chance to watch the original broadcast.

also has anyone got a spare copy of "the story of top of the pops?"
i think it was first shown on bbc1 or bbc2 on christmas day about 4 years ago ?

it was basically a documentary about top of the pops and it featured original presenters and performers from the 60's.
and lastly does anyone have a copy of britpop girls?
it was originally shown as a series on channel 4 on december 13th 1997.
it was about well known sixties female popstars such as sandie shaw, cilla black and lulu, as well as other less known female pop stars.
it was shown on saturday evenings and hasnt been repeated since as far as i know?
id like a copy of the show featuring cilla black, twinkle, and pp arnold.
i already have the one with sandie shaw.
again i would be very grateful if anyone has spare cop(ies) of all the above.

Default Ready Steady Go & Top Of The Pops ('66-72)

Anyone have recordings of 'Ready Steady Go'? I've got the stuff from the re-broadcasts from the early 80s & the commercially available stuff. I was wondering if there's anything else.

Also looking for Top Of The Pops...1966 to 1972.
I have the 1967 Xmas show and all the clips ffrom Sounds of The 60s...wondering if anyone has anything else from this period. Whole shows, even?

Default 60's TV MUSIC SHOWS

I've got "THE BEST OF READY STEADY GO" that was broadcast on HBO (USA, 3 hours). I also have a two hour compilation of the 1980's Channel 4 repeats, plus the complete 1973 TOP OF THE POPS CHRISTMAS SHOW (colour, no timecode), 2 episodes of OH BOY, a JUKE BOX JURY, the three surviving episodes of THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS, and an episode of WHOLE SCENE GOING (BBC 1966).

This type of pop music programming is potentially VERY lucrative
for bootleggers illegally trading on E-Bay. ..

Before offering copies do think about

(a) how much is it worth to you ?

(b) how much is it worth to them ? (several thousand £££ probably....)

Quick question here 'pop pickers", sorry Fluff, but what was the name of the girl who was Jimmy Saville's DJ who played the records, or seemed to on the early editions of TOTP? I think it was Samantha Just(e) but can't find any info? Anyone help?

Yes, it was Samantha Juste. She left TOTP when she married Mickey Dolenz from the Monkees.

I think there's a website dedicated to her.

Default Samantha Juste

She also appeared on TOTP as a performer plugging her song "No One Needs My Love Today" which I spent years trying to track down. (It's now out on CD.)
Mickey Dolenz wrote about here in his song "Randy Scouse Git" / "Alternate Title" singing "She's A Wonderful Lady And She's Mine All Mine". In the same song he mentions his new found friends The Beatles attending a party in his hotel "The 4 kings of EMI are sitting stately on the floor" - the screaming fans "THere are birds out on the sidewalk" - and the hook is about Alf Garnett arguing with his son-in-law - the "randy scouse git" of the title.
Samantha gets a mention in Wikepedia at Samantha Juste - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have a lot of stuff from that period. BUT it's all in NTSC format, and on VHS! I might be able to copy onto DVDs but don't know if your UK DVD player would be able to play the resulting DVD!

PM me and we'll talk about it!

Is that the one that features an interview with John Peel discussing how he hated the party atmosphere of 80s Pops? If so I'd quite like to see that again too
