Default 'Allo 'Allo - did BBC1 edit this yesterday?

Yesterday (Sunday) BBC1 showed the Series 5 'Allo 'Allo episode "A Duck For Launch" (aka "The Long Distance Duck"?), but it was only 20 minutes long. Was it originally longer and the Beeb cut it?

This is so strange I have an old Bulldog Drummond film on and the girl in it quotes a riddle, and before she says it over the phone she says, I will say this only once, made me instantly think of Allo Allo

meant to give you the riddle, so corny its unbelievable,
Its round and flat and not a hat
but carries a message for all of that, then she says I will say this only once.

When they first appeared I cannot recollect any being as short as 20 minutes since there were no adverts to have to take into account.

This editing is very common nowadays especially where programmes have found their way on to satellite.

It also affects many DVDs and not always for copyright reasons.

It is most infuriating to see the credits come up at the end of a show and to find that some of the artistes have been edited out of the repeat.

I know the BBC have removed a song from the first series of 'Just Good Friends' since the mid-eighties. When Vince and Penny fly to Portugal there was a montage of Vince's fear of flying put to music. This was from all terrestial broadcasts since so there are precedents.
