Does anyone have any episodes of the original Dr. Finaly's casebook series? I'm in the States and would love to see some.

I was in Callender in Scotland in July, the village used in the series (although it was named Tannochbrae in the series), and it brought back memories for me - I'd like to see some more. The BBC showed one programme last year as part of some celebration or other and I did record it, but wiped over it in a moment of madness

I had heard they sometimes re-broadcast a few episodes and hoped that someone had taped one or two.

I don't know about a few - I've only ever seen one episode in the past 20 odd years. Even the so-called "Gold" channels never show it.

I recorded one episode off BBC4 last year:

Dr Finlay’s Casebook – The Phantom Piper of Tannochbrae – first episode of season 4 – 21/11/65

If anyone's interested getting this email me

Ther have been no VHS or DVD releases as yet but at least 3 episodes have been repeated by the BBC in the last 15 years so doubtless some people here will have them?

Although a number of Dr Finlay's Casebook episodes have been sadly deleted from the BBC archives, most of them still exist. It would indeed be great to see more, a suggestion would be for more people to request the series, either from the BBC or from tvshowsondvd. Just type in the www to precede then .com afterit, I'm not sure if url's are allowed on this forum!

Myself I have a few of them copied from video. Episodes; The Red Herring, The Gifts of the Magi (Christmas episode) Comin Thro' The Rye (colour) and Matter Of Life (last five minutes of this episode lost)

I certainly recall that BBC2 showed 'The Gifts Of The Magi' circa 1991 as part of an archive day of old Christmas programmes and 'Comin Thro' The Rye' maybe about 8 years ago as part of a season about mental health if I remember correctly (along with selected editions of 'Sykes' and 'Colditz' which fitted the theme).

I would have thought there's room for a 'best of' DVD release with maybe 4 episodes to test the market?

Default Looking to buy dr finlay's casebook

Hello everyone!

I've read that a few of you have episodes of the 60s dr finlay's casebook. I'm a student in Southampton and my group project this semester centers around this series but it's incredibly difficult to find any videos or DVDs. If anybody here would want to copy any episodes they have and send them to me I would gladly pay you for the service. It's very important to me that I get a hold of some of these episodes. Please reply as quickly as possible as I'm in a bit of a rush.

Hello everyone!

I am a student at Southampton and my group project this semester centers around this series. Please if anybody would be generous enough to either lend/sell/copy me their episodes, I would reimburse them appropriately. Please, if anybody can help me, could you respond quickly as I am under pressure from the rest of my group to procure these resources as quickly as possible.

Thanking you in advance.
