Thanks to all who responded re. Spend, Spend, Spend, Sunset Across the Bay and others, I've now got these but I'm still looking for Leeds United! [nothing to do with soccer], a Play for Today by either Colin Welland or Keith Waterhouse.

Hi i love the play for today's from the 70's and early 80's .There is a tv play series i saw set in everton area it was in black and white and had the bloke who played steptoe in it as an old man ,early scenes where set in hayworth
street school and some around st georges hill netherfield road , does anyone know what it was called or have a copy , i used to live in the area so would love to see it again for the street footage .

Sounds like the Ken Loach play, "The Golden Vision" which was about the Everton player, Alex Young. Don't remember Wilfred Brambell being in it, though.

If it is the same one I have a copy.

I would say Stocker's Copper is one of the finest things I've seen from the PFT strand. Of course, I've seen very few, but if only 10% meet that kind of quality then the whole series is a miracle.
