I've got two episodes on VHS from Thames called
Moving In and
The Nelson Touch when he was shacked up in a bedsit with his girlfriend, with a landlady played by the marvellous Josephine Tewson and Kenneth Cope as the official down at the DHSS office. These episodes were from 1979 so I assume it was the very first series.
A radio version is being re-run on BBC7 with Stephen Tomkinson as Shelley.
