Default Espionage

Does anyone know of a source for the 1960s series, "Espionage"?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056754/

Many thanks,
Ruth

I wish I did, especially the three episodes
Never Turn Your Back on a Friend (1.12)
The Frantick Rebel (1.17)
A Free Agent (1.23)
which were directed by Michael Powell.they've not been seen anywhere outside the library.

Steve

They are available to view at places like the BFI library (I'm told) but

Steve, hopefully good news :

The BBFC on the 11th July cleared these three episodes of Espionage for release by Sound and Media Ltd ( which I think is Network ? )

Fingers crossed only a matter of time now !

Noe to mods, not sure if I've posted this is the right thread ?

The whole series was due out earlier this year on Network and was then withdrawn....this looks hopeful..can't wait.

Yes, the whole seires would be ideal but at least three episodes are better than none.

Yes, good news indeed if they do make it to DVD this time.
It would be good to see the whole series, it was most innovative I'm told. But it's the Powell ones I most want to see released of course

May I add that music for The Frantick Rebel & A Free Agent is by (famous) British composer Benjamin Frankel.

I have four episodes from this thought provoking series:

The Gentle Spies
Once a Spy....
Covenant with Death
He Rises on Sunday and We on Monday

And the music on episodes The Light of a Friendly Star, Never Turn Your Back on a Friend and A Free Agent is by even more famous British composer Malcolm Arnold (they shared the composer credits on A Free Agent)

They did get some very good people working on the series, in the cast and the crew

For info, Malcolm Arnold composed the title music to the Espionage series plus the incidental music to fourteen episodes including the four I mentioned in my earlier posting, i.e. The Gentle Spies, Once a Spy...., Covenant with Death and He Rises on Sunday

My copy of the Network DVD just arrived! Really looking forward to watching these three Powell-directed ones, having never seen any of the original series.
