Default Dennis Potter - The last Interview

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on this? I know it came out on video in the U.S. but as I understand it, American VHS is not compatible at all with British equipment, unlike US DVD.

Anyone able to help?

All home videos use the same VHS format (except those few that don't). The VHS format defines things like the packaging and the tape size.

But the signal that is recorded on those tapes is different in the Americas to that used in most of the rest of the world.

The Americans use a system called NTSC (Never The Same Color) which is a lower standard than the PAL system used here.

All VCRs sold in the UK in the last 10 years or so (and many older models) can quite easily lower their standards a bit and play an American tape. But American equipment finds it hard to raise its standards and play PAL tapes.

So you can quite happily buy tapes in the US of A and play them on British equipment.
