Smile Life Story aka Double Helix, Horizon, 1987

Dear all,

I remember being enthralled by this programme when I saw it on BBC2 many years ago. It was wonderful - science in action!

I wonder if anyone out there might have a copy - I'm not aware that it was ever released commercially (though I could be wrong).

If anyone can help, I'd be very grateful.

Many thanks,

WG Bunter

I believe it was repeated a handful of years back...this is the one with Jeff Goldblum , Tim Pigott-Smith and Juliet Stevenson isnt it...it was released on VHS in the States, so scouring ebay may be an option. There are a few secondhand at Amazon.com....but mighty expensive IMHO... Amazon.com: Used and New: Race for the Double Helix

Bit of a Bay Window, what??

Ah yes, Juliet Stevenson as Rosalind Franklin the woman who was robbed of the Nobel Prize. What Crick & Watson did was very clever, but they couldn't have done it without Rosalind and her x-ray crystallography.
