Hi, Anyone remember Mrs Thursday - Kathleen Harrison

I remember it well. Kathleen Harrison's acting career spanned nearly 50 years and she lived to the ripe old age of 103
Her first major film was the excellent Hobsons Choice in which she played Ada Figgins
IIRC there's an episode of MRS THURSDAY on the JACK ROSENTHAL at ITV DVD boxed set...
SMUDGE
Thanks for replies.Great programme.Doesn,t seem to be out on Dvd.I would love to watch it again.
"Knobs, lovely knobs....."![]()
From TVTimes, 30th April 1966:
The late Hugh Manning went on to play a vicar, Rev. Donald Hinton, in Emmerdale Farm for many years
I have only slightly cropped this page so you can enlarge the image and find it easier to read the text:
Ironically, there is a Maxwell Caulfield currently starring in Emmerdale
And in the "Grease" sequel, "Grease 2".
If its the same person he does get about!![]()

Don't he........he also played Charlton Heston's Son and Barbara Stanwyck's Nephew in supersoap 'The Colbys'
name='Donnyjohn']Sorry but Kathleen Harrison did not play Ada Figgins in Hobsons Choice. That was Dorothy Gordon. Kathleen Harrisons first roles were among others Line Engaged 1935,I Killed the Count 1939,Oliver Twist 1948, and of course Scrooge in 1951. Followed on by Pickwick Papers and many many more. What a lady and still missed.
Kathleen did play Ada Figgins in Harold Brighouse's 1931 version of Hobson's Choice. Bank Holiday was another early-ish film (although her first was in 1915) where she spent a lot of the time slapping children.![]()
Anyone know if Mrs Thursday was shown 'live'?
I have a very vivid childhood memory that has stayed with me to this day, and in fact occurred to me today.
Mrs Thursday says to Mr 'unter, 'I might be green looking but I'm not a cabbage.'
Obviously the wrong way round, hence my question about whether it was live. Did Kathleen just get her lines mixed up?
Anyhoo, it has been a catchphrase in my family ever since, most of the younger members having no clue how it originated. [Along with the 'onsanants box' which is another tale]
Yes i remember this series from many many years ago, they dont make them like that anymore sadly.
