Default Getting back into essay writing! (?)

I am just about to start the first essay in 10 years!

I guess this will be a situation familiar to a lot of adults who are going back into education after a long break - but I am finding this first essay very difficult.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions for the essay writing process in general, and writing a case study or short film review more specifically.

I've written my own thoughts (more ramblings) about this preparation on my blog here: Thoughts: Exercise 4 (Pt. 1) - Essay*preparation - Film Studies blog - Journaling my study of film, cinema and directors

---- I never thought I would be so worried about writing a short essay!

I've written my first essay in the course, and this was my first for 23 years! It wasn't specifically requested, but I decided to make exercise 2 an essay rather than a list of ideas. I'll send it to you if you like, but will need email address. Cheers.

There are several good essays in the features section of this site. Have a read of those, you may get some ideas re structure et al.

Good luck.

When I was at Uni I found the best way to tackle an essay was write the conclusion first then the opening gambit and then fill the middle in via a series of quotations. Worked for me anyway.
