I'm thinking of taking a course in 'film'. I'm not sure how to go about it at the moment - by post etc..
I wondered if anybody had been on a course and could recommend one? I have degree in 'Theatre and Media' - but focused very little on film during my time at uni. I'd like a thorough grounding in film history, genres, techniques etc.. The Tate Gallery has a wonderful 'course' you can take from home to learn more about art. You just log in, read up and test yourself. Something like that would be ideal. Tate Online Courses: Artists' Techniques and Methods But I am, also, mulling over the day of a one year course in practical techniques - my ex is a TV cameraman and recommends the BBC courses for this..but I'd like to look around and see what is available. Hi Modestyblaise,
I start a degree course at Exeter University in September relating to your query; BA Film Studies (Cinema and Practice) Can't wait. I've got a great idea. |

Hi Kawolski
Oddly enough I was looking at the MA at Exeter earlier - they have an entirely online course. Good luck with it - I'm sure you'll love it ![]() I also found this: Training & Courses - britfilms.com I'm aware of Raindance..I'm not sure about them..never have been..if anyone has any experience of them - I'd be interested in hearing about it. BFI | Courses and events | Media courses directory and this: Links: Courses Online - Channel 4 Film feature |

Replying to the original question regarding choosing a decent course in film. A friend of mine recently got accepted into Bourenmouth Arts Institution doing a degree in Film Production. Rated one of the best Institution in England as well as being highly recommend by Skillset i'd say this would be a fantastic course to choose.
Had an interview here for the Foundation Degree Year 0 but luckily got rejected. I orginally trained as an Actor but have always been into photography and film creation. Being rejected proved to me that I need to improve greatly on my portfolio before re-applying. After completing my BTEC in Performing Arts I realized that I preferred to be behind the camera instead of in front. In the next year im goingto focus on Film, Media Studies and Art. The website link to Bournemouth Arts Institution is: The Arts Institute at Bournemouth - Home Page |
