I want to research film websites and their audiences so if you have a couple of minutes could you please answer these questions?

1. The target audience of this website is fans of British films and those who want to know more about British films, stars, directors and the history of British films. Do you agree?
2. Do you feel part of the target audience?
3. Does the site appeal to you? Why/why not?

If you are a fan of Hollywood films or a reader of Empire magazine, please visit Empire: Film Reviews, Movie News and Interviews and answer the following questions
4. The target audience of this website is fans of mainstream Hollywood films (typically 15-25 year old men) and readers of Empire magazine. Do you agree?
5. Are you a reader of the magazine?
6. If yes, which did you start reading first, the website or the magazine?
7. Do you feel part of this website’s target audience?
8. Does this site appeal to you? Why/why not?

If you are a fan of indie flicks and world cinema, please visit kamera.co.uk what's new and answer the following questions
9. The target audience oft his website is fans of independent films and world cinema. Do you agree?
10. Do you feel part of the target audience?
11. Does the site appeal to you? Why/why not?

Further questions
12. Which website is the most successful for you? Why?
13. Which website is the least successful for you? Why?

Thank you for your time. If you don’t wish to reply here, please PM me

For my Media Studies A2 coursework. I want to create a film website and magazine aimed at women (an educational one for students) but first I need to research current ones and their audiences, etc.

The rule of thumb is that you tell us what you think first.

Of course we'll help, but it would be useful to see what you think first. Otherwise we're just doing your work for you.

You put your point of view, and no doubt there'll be loads of other thoughts posted.

It's called academic debate!

But you wouldn't be doing my work for me. I already know what I think but I need to know about the effects on other audiences!

I would have said that this is one of those occasions where the 'student' should not give their opinions but ironically already has with loaded questions.

You should have asked the question "How would you perceive the content and perusers of the following three websites?" and then listed these websites, perhaps also asking which of them is used by the person leaving their comments.

If you want a discussion on your perceived view of these websites you should express your opinion, as your opinion, on one subject and one website alone. Discussion on on all of the above in one thread is not workable.
