Default Kerr as feminist???

How about "A Taste of Honey" in one direction
And "Colonel Blimp" going in another - Deborah Kerr's three characterizations of the strong British woman during a variety of Britain at war is quite good.

It's a TV serial, rather than a film.

I wouldn't say so!
Compare Bound – also the work of a male director.

Try the work of the German director Margarethe von Trotta. Her Rosa Luxemburg biopic is pretty good.
