Biography:

I live in Washington,Tyne-Wear.I'm a Geordie by birth and a Mackem by location and football allegiance.Dropped out of A-levels and joined the Co-op's management training scheme in 1974.I worked for them for 10 years,8 as a store manager.After being made redundant in the early 80's I worked as a bus driver for 23 years.3 years ago I was forced to give it up due to vertigo caused by arthitis in the old "Gregory Peck"a,so now I'm retired early,looking for a situation as Dickens would say.
I'm passionate about music and cursed with a wide taste which has led to a collection of around 3,000 albums.I play guitar ,mandolin and gob-iron.The love s of my life are a Fender Telecaster and Danelectro 12 string electric .I also have 2 other electrics and 4 acoustics.I played in a couple of bands after leaving school which didn't go anywhere but were a good laugh and did the workingmen's club circuit with my brother for a while until I got the ultimatum from work"the day job or the music",so now I play for my own amusement.The enforced retirement has meant my playing has improved by leaps and bounds,I can do things with a Telecaster now that I never could before(oooh Matron!)
I'm also keenly interested in history,especially military history from the age of black powder to Vietnam,which in turn led to taking up model making(sad I know).
Although I'm not driving anymore I'm still a shamelessly un-PC petrol-head.British cars from the 60's -80's and Yank tanks from almost any era fill the bill.If I win the lottery a '64 GTO and 49 Mercury will be at the top of my shopping list,along with a huge tract of land to drive them on.
