    Hi all

Once or twice I have tried adding screengrabs to postings where appropriate (having used VLC to 'grab' them and upload).

Sometimes they do appear (but rather smaller than other posters), other times they appear as a hyperlink to the VLC screengrab and cannot be seen unless clicked on.

Am I going wrong somewhere please? What is the key to getting a decent size grab on the post?

    Thanks

If you are using Windows 7 theres a neat snipping tool in which you can select the Size of the Grab.......
It may be available in Vista.. Im not sure as i have never used it.

The more important thing is what you do with the image once you've got it.
There's a thread about that in the New Users area at How to Post Images on Britmovie

In a nutshell - get a Photobucket account (free) and upload your pics there. Underneath each picture you'll see an option that says Direct Link. Click on that and it should say 'Copied'. Back at Britmovie, in your post click on the Insert Image tab which will bring up another box. Delete the http:// that's in there and paste in your copied link. Click OK and your image should be there.

    Hi, Jim,

These illustrations are extremely helpful. Thankfully, I can do screengrabs but for a beginner, visuals make all the difference in learning how to go through the process.

Mariocki, you are a star. I have looked through other suggestion on how to post screengrabs but gave up in confustion. But being so fed up that I couldn't share some of my photos, I felt like tearing my hair out. But then I noticed yours yesterday. It seemed so simple, I thought I would give it a go. After all, I couldn't be that thick, could I?
I was so surprised when it worked that I wondered why I had worried in the first place. Thanks again.

I love Photobucket too ... and have been so impressed with the ease of use and numerous features ...
I started with the free version, but recently paid for the Pro-version with unlimited storage capacity.

Photobucket is a fantastic site. I signed up a while ago with just a dozon or so photos stored there, only I never used it. Now I know how to transfer photos over, I will upload, and use it more frequently. And it is so easy to use.

I stopped using Photobucket when I realised they had begun to resize my images. I want them to be seen in their original size so I'm using ImageShack now.
