It appears that most of us are due to have birthdays on November the 30th.

What's the story behind this then?

When the system was changed to use the new forum software it didn't manage to convert the old style dates of birth - and I don't think anyone's figured out how to set them to the correct dates.

Mine changed from 11th April to 4th November so that's probably just a change from British to American style dates.
