Default Hello all

Just wanted to say hi. I've been lurking around this site for a while now and it looks like a great place for a Brit tv and movie fan like me to be. I'm American and have loved British tv/movies since I was a child.

My favorite tv show (both US & UK) is Danger Man (hour-long version) and 2nd favorite is The Sandbaggers.

My favorite movie is Lawrence of Arabia and after that my favorites are the B&W movies made by the Archers in the 1940s.

Looking forward to chatting with all of you.

Smile greetings

I am a new member - a senior - growing old disgracefully. Incorrigible Saga-lout. Love travel and have visited 28 countries last count. Love old films especially black and white - adore art deco design. Cry buckets at Brief Encounter even though I've seen it loads of times. Also love opera and ballet and theatre.
Training to be an eccentric, have been known to dance along with the music in supermarkets - probably best avoided.
Looking forward to some good chats.

Welcome Louise,
Is "squeezynz" a reference to To the Manor Born?

Nope, sorry, that one sailed right over the ol' noggin. Mind you, haven't watched the series in awhile, but loved it all the same......so romantic *sigh*

No, the handle is just a childhood nickname with the country de jour attached at the end. Pronounced "squeezy kneez" not "squeezy enzed"

all clear now?? right, there'll be question later.........

anyway, feel free to elucidate the reference........

cheers

It was used in To the Manor Born when Audrey and Marjory were remembering the skiing instructor at their finishing school. His instruction was always "Squeeze the knees" which with his Austrian accent came out as "squeez ze kneez"

Fellw, only a few threads of it, right? And we haven't even come close to 100,000 posts on any of them. (yawh) Well, not today, at least!
