Default Hello from Down South

Just a few lines to say Hello

Fareham Bee because I live in Fareham and support Brentford (The Bees) and is my username on most message boards I use.

Forty five year old just getting into proper films. Had a boss that introduced me back to film after I got fed up with all action/explosive films with silly endings that seemed to be taking over.

Favorite films tend to come from Europe, particularly France but I love British film from the older stuff to the better quality new ones like Romeo Brass or London To Brighton. It's nice to find other enthusiasts and people I can learn from.

Fareham Bee, hopefully you've not been bitten by the collector bug because these people are just terrible for someone like me, who has been. They're TERRIBLE! There's hardly a week that goes by where I've not added a few Must-See's or Must-Have's to my list, on top of even more "sounds like great fun to watch" films, too.

Even worse, there are writers on here who refuse to post warnings before they submit spit-out-my-coffee calibre jokes. I've learned to keep clean wipe-down rags nearby, along with replacement keyboards and mice.

Some of these folks are just terrible like that!

They have no qualms about infecting me with enthusiasm for different genres or eras of film, either. Terrible!

I am terrible for collecting. Only started on dvds not so long back and have loads already, they are queueing up to be watched and the queue just gets longer. I am the same with records with a collection of over 20,000 tracks to chose from, although I hasten to add the old film collection is a long way behind that.

Clitheroe, I haven't seen any Jacques Tati films yet. I have been picking them out by actor/actress, Daniel Autiel, Juliet Binoche, Audrey Tatu all favorites of mine, but have recently seen a good French "Shane Meadows" type film called La Haine (The Hate). Recommended.

We seem to be swamped with "Glory Boys" round here so a warm welcome to a supporter of a humble local club

(He says suffering the trials and tribulations of Aldershot F.C/Aldershot Town F.C since 1975.)

Hi ya Everyone,
I joined the other day, but it's took me a couple of days to pluck up the courage to post my first post. I was born into a loving family in Norfolk, who raised me on the classics...the Amicus, Hammer, Tigon and Universal horror films. As well as the Ealing films and the Carry On's.
My favourite Directors include Ken Russell, Carol Reed, Peter Greenaway, Stanley Kubrick and James Whale. I love far too many films to list them, but one of my favourites that seems to get panned a lot is 'Hannibal Brooks'., a very much underrated classic.
Anyway, the forum looks wonderful and it's great to be here !!
