Good on you Harbottle, Had some great afternoons at the Recreation Ground, Had some good games with you lot, in and outside the ground LOL. (Too old for all that nowadays thankfully ).

I deliver to a Pastor in Emsworth who supports Aldershot and the language a man of the cloth uses to describe his feelings last season is scary

Nice to find another real football fan!

Default Hello!

Hi all - just a quick introduction....

mainly interested in releases 1965-1975

if push came to shove, I'd opt for 'The Sorcerers' as my favourite British film from this era - a strange choice many may think but it was burnt into my mind at an early age!

am especially interested in the musical scores which accompanied the films of said period - especially the non-commercial releases

cheers, Col

PS - is there a search facility on the forums?

"The Sorcerer" has great premise - taking someone's body out for joyride! Just think how many application that would have in real life..

Any particular composers favoured?

Hi AN

stuff from the deWolfe library mainly

John Cameron too (Psychomania)

and Goblin (Marangolo/Morante/Pignatelli/Simonetti) of course for their excellent Italian 70s stuff

there's a current project called 'The Giallos Flame' which are heavily influenced by the likes of Goblin

just checked out your myspace thing - nice!

Hi Col,

I'm afraid I'm not particularly familiar with those, though I liked John Cameron's score to 'Jack the Ripper' starring Michael Caine. My favourites are Bernard Herrmann, Jerry Goldsmith, and Dmitry Shostakovich.

Glad you liked my MySpace.

John Cameron is a personal favourite of mine. His haunting music for KES is rather lovely.

His work with The John Cameron Quartet in the 60's is also pretty fab!

Aaryk - I reckon you'd like the Goblin recordings - I assumed your sound may have been tinged with their influence - I'd recommend these Goblin related films/scores: Suspiria, Zombi, Roller, Profundo Rosso & Notturno

Clitheroekid - yep, 'Kes' is great if you're in a flute mood. both 'Kes' & 'Psychomania' were released for the 1st time in OST format by Trunk Records a few years ago - long since deleted sadly

I'll post up any more soundtrack comments in the relevant 'Project Room' Film Music area, like a good boy

Be great if you would Col Wolfe (welcome, by the way !). Sorry to hear that I missed out on PSYCHOMANIA OST - I would have liked that. Score wise I like Richard Rodney Bennett and John Scott. I also pick up odds and ends of the Chappell library on CD when they turn up on EBay.
