Hi there!

If these are 'quality' films ...then good on you! Each to their own! I love the quirky and the weird ... and wind up watching 'True Movies' quite often - in spite of living with a family full of some unconvincing reasons-not-to!

Try 'A Taste of Honey', 'Woman In A Dressing Gown', or 'Alfie '---- then there's 'Arsenic and Old Lace' (or acrylic these days!) and a pile more that have never been re-released! I saw 'Kes' the other day for sale in Virgin ...and 'If' was on tv ...TCM or summat ....I was so tired I couldn't stay up....and then found out it's about £15 to buy, or something ridiculous...

As an occasional writer, that IS a huge part of my 'pocket money' .... but I did splash out on ebay this week - I bought a signed copy of an original bill-poster displayed outside one of the first screenings of 'Woman In A Dressing Gown'

One of my many guilt-ridden concerns, however, is that the actor Anthony Quayle signed it one year before his death! I don't think I much admire the fella who asked him to sign it - and yet here I am - many years after his death - winding up with an 'immortal signature' which is a mere twa'penn' orth of the original glitz and glam of the event itself!

Long live the movies!

Ps I like your introduction ..new here myself ...and you've blown it wide open!

Cool Hi Guys and Gals

Hi Guys and Gals. I'm new here, but I've got one thing in common with all of you - a love of British Movies. (Much better than the majority of American pap they keep churning out!)Evenings of watching the classics on BBC2! I look forward to having a chat, having my questions answered and maybe answering a few myself!

Default And it's hello from me

I'm a newbie (an oldie but a newbie!) and just popping in to say hello before going off to the dress rehearsal of When We Are Married, our local amdram soc's latest production - I do props and set dressing. Wish us well, because I have a feeling we're all going to choke on the smoke that billows up when the flash goes off at the end!

I found this message board while searching for info about the play, and I'm now wondering if it was a Good Thing, because I can see me spending far too much time reading through the posts!

Cheers for now.

Default Tatty Ho!

Just a quick hello seein' as it's my first post here.

Just drifted over from the British Horror Films Forum where they're a great bunch of knowledgeable, friendly sorts.

Favourite film, well, any Amicus portmanteau or Terry Thomas / Peter Sellers classic.

Looking forward to dropping by from time to time.
