Default another new boy on the block

Hello,

I have found my way to this forum from one on the collecting and restoring of vintage radios and other vintage technology.

My primary interest in this field is the technical side (the hardware - to borrow a term from computing), but I am also interested in the software of vintage broadcast material - especially documentary footage about technology.

Best wishes to everyone on this forum, and please bear with me as I find my way around within this community which is new to me.

Hi everyone.
I have interest in films from the 50`s and 60`s. I tape a lot of films from daytime Channel 4. Some films I cant remember ever being on tv or released on tape or dvd. Some of the films I would like info on may have been made in America but because of the actors and storylines appear to be british.

Has anybody any info on the following films and whether they are available:-

The Hellions with Richard Todd which I believe was based in South Africa

Light up the Sky with Tommy Steele and based on an Anti Aircraft gun crew

Where the Buffalo Roam which was a BBC play with Hywel Bennett

That is just for a starter more will undoubtidly follow and will say thanks in advance

Howse

Default Welcome

Welcome to Dave. Kelly and Howse. BTW Howse - there is a thread on WHERE THE BUFFALO ROAM on the "Looking For Video" thread so you may get lucky.
Look forward to your posts - and Kelly - nice choice with BRIGHTON ROCK, but the one thing that cracks me up on that film is when Richard Attenborough says to his girlfriend' "How old are you?" and she says "17" and he says " Me too". I never fail to fall off my chair at that.

Just incase you do not know me I am Robert and my love is for British films and BBC TV programs from the 1960's, 1970's & early 1980's with a main focus on Alfred Hitchcocks silents from the 1920's and his early talky's from the 1930's (Yes I know the silent and sound versions of 'Blackmail' are both from 1929) while my TV favorites include Dads Army, Adam Adamant Lives, Out of the Unknown & Doctor Who. I love to see longer edits and studio material from these shows as well as from others.
Yes I agree this is one of the nicest forums around with friendly people and lots of knowledge.

"Seya next time!"

I am a new member of the forum. I am a retired librarian and I live in the United States. I have been interested in films for all my life. I greatly enjoy British films and have many in my collection, especially Hammer films. The forum will be a great place to learn and share more about films.
