Hello, I'm Chris Cooling
![]() My early film hero was Louis Hayward. This was partly due to my father claiming that he was Louis Hayward and that he had retired to ordinary life as Peter Cooling. He was pulling my leg but the gullible 10 year old went around proudly boasting that his dad was a retired film star. ![]() Guitar Chord Buster Louis Hayward I've forgiven my dad but the likeness is there: ![]() Guitar Chord Buster My Dad Well, he missed being a film star but he turned out to be a gifted musician. You can't have everyting can you? Chris Last edited by coolingc; 24-12-2007 at 02:31 PM.. Reason: Pictures don't appear in HTML |

Hello all.
Just joined and this is the first post. My name's Bill Turner, 54, from Cumbria where it is, of course raining. I found this site as I was looking for a particular Ghost Story, ie Schalken the Painter, but realised that this site held sooo much more than that! I'm looking forward to tracking down as much as I can in the way of older TV programmes. I'm a self confessed geek with a passion for all things sci-fi, adventure, drama, history - well anything really. So before I get too gushy - I'll stop |

This website was recommended by a close friend of mine, who has spent most of her life acting small parts in films, stage and TV.
We were talking about films made in the Brighton and Hove area and my Dad, who is 92 years old, said that he was an extra in a film called Jigsaw, made in the early sixties. I don't remember him ever mentioning this before, or ever seeing this film. I would like to see it to see if I can pick him out. Also when I was at school in the mid fifties I remember watching a film company filming in the Hanover area of Brighton. All I can remember is that there were a few American soldiers in a Jeep pulling up outside a house and a girl looked out of the upstairs window and one of the soldiers shouted "Hi Sylvia" or something like that. Around the same time I saw what could have been the same film crew filming outside the Rothbury cinema in Portslade. They were filming a queue of people and the local fire brigade were creating heavy rain with their hoses. This may have been the same film as the one in Hanover. Can anybody name this film for me. Also does anyone know if these two films are available on Video or DVD MikeP |

Hi everyone, I was trawling through the web search engine over the holiday looking for two old films and discovered this site, looks really good. I am waiting for the moderator to approve me! so I thought I would write my first thread here. I hope to contribute once I have had time to discover some of the topics. Happy New Yera All.
