Default Interested in Brit New Wave films

I am doing some research on the socially realistic films called the New Wave. Being in the United States I find it difficult to get to see all of the titles I'd like. The BFI website does not allow non-Britainers to access their prodigious catelogue. I even tried to get my school library to create a link but was not allowed. Right now it is too expensive to make it across the pond to see these films directly and I really want to learn more about them and seeing is knowing.

I'm new. I tend towards 70s and 80s TV, collect Hammer, Amicus, Tigon etc. and wish I had more free time to hunt down and watch lots of the old TV plays - the type that don't seem to get made anymore, sadly.

Default Hello from Devon.

Hello,

I'm Peter from North Devon. I found this forum to-day whilst doing a Google search. I'm a collector of pre-warradios and 405-line TV sets made between 1936-1950. My oldest TV set is from 1937 and is a Marconi 703 "Mastergram", the early type where you watch via a mirror in the lid. All of the sets are restored and working. I collect old TV programmes from the 1930's onwards and also films of interest to me. Obviously, as you can guess from my screen name, I am rather in to Dr Who and have collected every existing episode from 1963 to date, plus reconstructions of the missing episodes. I have a love of classic science fiction.

I'll look forward to learning more as I read various areas of the forum.

All the best,

Peter.

Heya, I'm Sarah from East Sussex. I found this site whilst trying to find copies of the British drama Heartbeat, and found a link to this site. Anyone else interested in the program?

Hi and welcome.

Just wondering how you chose Fagins girl as your forum name?

Hearing the name Fagin always reminds me of a poor Christmas.

Enjoy the forum.

Dave.
