It's like the old Country Music song
"I miss my wife, but my aim is improving"

Default Charity's fine, subscribe to mine

Fagin's girl,

Greetings. Interested in your moniker. I am also a big fan of Oliver!. As a movie it doesn't seem to get the kudos these days that I think it deserves, probably because it wasn't made in Hollywood and is just seen as a Christmas movie... The staging of the musical numbers and the lyrics of the songs are just fabulous. That's the trailer out of the way.

A question.

Back in the early 90's (I think) there was one of those Royal Variety Command Performance type specials. You know the set up. Two stand up comics, a band of Hungarian acrobats and a rousing finale with Shirley Bassey. In this particular programme there was a reprise of songs from Oliver. In two different segments Ron Moody did the songs "Got To Pick A Pocket Or Two" and an inspirational and improvised "Reviewing The Situation" that brought thunderous applause from a packed house. I would love to get my hands on that footage. Do you have the same or know wanyone who might be able to help?

As someone once said, "Please Sir - I want some more!"

Thanks regardless.

Edward G

I find the upper class characters have a lot less personality. My favorite film of all time is Oliver the musical, so I thought Fagins girl was a persona that suited me for this site, obviously I couldnt be one of Fagins boys as I`m female, and I`m no imposter that way

And oh yeah, I am definately poor, especially at Christmas

I'm as mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore!

Hi Edward,

I dont have that footage, sounds good! I know Ron Moody has played Fagin many times, naturally he is the best

Here is a website that you would be interested in, you can post questions like that on there, many people view it, but people do take thier time to answer. Anyway, its worth asking there.

AND there are loads of great photographs of the cast and from the filming of it.

Oliver! Much much more than a musical! Home Mark Lester
