Hi all,
I registered a couple of days ago but I'll introduce myself as well.

I think this is an amazing site. I've just become a fan of Eric Portman. There aren't any words that could describe how I feel about him and his work except this :O !
I am also a fan of Leslie Howard. These two are my favorites because IMO they were both talented and amazing at their craft, and that they had totally different styles.

Well, that's all I have to say!

Oh and also will the gallery be up soon? I haven't had a chance to look through it.

Default Hello from artemis 778- new member

Finally , taking the plunge from being a guest observer to
becoming a member, so hello to everyone.
Right from the start, it was a delight to find a forum with such
a range of interest-' Laughter in the Dark' to 'Eyeless in Gaza'
etc- that is so important. Forgotten gems come back to life!
Old enough to remember those 2 titles being released/ transmitted
-and enjoyed- a curious benefit of getting older, I guess.
artemis778
ps hope I've done the threading correctly.

Smile Hello everyone, I think I posted this in the wrong place...

Hi Everyone

I'm new to the site and so far am enjoying it immensely. I posted my introduction (below) last week, but think I put it on someone else's intro thread by mistake (I'm a bit of a novice at this) so at the risk of annoying those of you who have read my ramblings already, am posting it again here.

This is such a great friendly site - I've already tracked down a TV prog I have been hankering after for years and enjoyed reading some of your threads. I hope to do a lot more. Thanks folks - here is my original post - with a few additions in square brackets.
...
Well, I have just joined and a message popped up suggesting I introduce myself, so I hope this is the right place to do it. [I don't think it was - sorry!]

I found you during a search for a fab 1970s drama/documentary called 'Microbes and Men' which I have been trying to track down a copy of for years on and off. I see someone else on the site rates it too, so maybe I'll be lucky this time. [I haven't been yet - so if any of you know anything about this prog - pls PM me!]

But I love so much British film and TV stuff and from a quick look round your forums it looks like you guys share a lot of my interests too, so I look forward to some great discussions and finding out lots of new stuff about great British films and TV.

I'm not sure how to find my way around yet, but will go exploring soon.

Cheers

Hi Everyone

Great site. Just found it when looking for some background details on an old movie I was watching. Hope to add a few posts over the times ahead.

Cheers all

Hi All
Found this site after hunting for the 1967 film Charlie Bubbles for a year, it looked so good I decided to join but in my haste posted an introduction somewhere else on here, so sorry for that and hello again, think I'm in the right place now. Look forward to finding out about unusual and rare films some only partialy seen years ago, like the one above that have lingered in the memory.

Just thought I'd say hello too, as I've recently joined the site.

Incredible source of info and chat on British films, wish I'd found it years ago!

Has been great to read in-depth forum chats on some old faves such as The Long Good Friday, The Wild Geese, The Eagle Has Landed and Where Eagles Dare among many, many others.

The area I used to live in was near to many film studios, such as Pinewood Studios, Bray, Teddington etc so I think thats partly why I'm a film nut. Its amazing how many locations I can spot in films, with the classic one being Black Park, which seems to have been in almost every film out of Pinewood Studios!

I'm really looking forward to much film discussion.

Default Hello all

Although I am primarily a music fan it is great to find a website devoted to the discussion of great British Movies & TV shows!! Too many to mention here, but hope to find plenty of forums discussing the great TV shows "Steptoe & Son" and maybe even "Get Some In"?

Hey.

Doesn't that make you a woollyback, rather than a redneck?

That's what we'd say round here, anyway.

Welcome!

Default Intro

Hello all. Sorry, already posted 15 times and just found an introduction area !!
I have a passion for British films from several eras, even the 80's ! My main man is represented by my avatar, I could watch him snoring in real time, what an actor!
These forums are fascinating and I am always amazed by the speed and depth of your knowledge on here. I look forward to some lively discussion.
Once again, Hello.
