Hello, this is the first time I have ever joined a web forum (is that what it is called?) and so please forgive any stumblings, misunderstanding, bad etiquette, etc.

I joined britmovie as I am searching for films, and information, related to the Festival of Britain, 1951. I'm particularly interested in Happy Family (1952), and anything that shows building and construction in the immediate post-war period.

I was wondering if anyone could direct me to the right person/location on this site to start/join in a discussion about this.

Many thanks for reading what must seem like a very plodding post!

Hello to you all from a new ageing member. The first request I have is to find anyone who has access to the 1985 (aprox) T V Film of "Cyrano de Bergerac" with Derek Jacobi. I do have a Beta Copy of this but nothing to play it on

Default hello from brisbane

I found this site, hunting for trade test transmission information. It speaks volumes for the forum that its one of the top hits on google.

"Life on Mars" has just finished its second series screening here in Australia, and the site of the test card and some old station intros brought back waves of memory (and of course all that polyester).

Thumbs up New Oldie on the Block

Hi there,

I found the site while trying to track down a film/TV series from 1972 or thereabouts. It was called " The Accursed Kings" and was on for about five installments as I recall. I cannot recall whether it was BBC or ITV but I am desperately trying to track it down and would ppreciate any help. I can manage some French but it seems as if what is available is not sub titled.

Look forward to looking around the forums and making some new friends

Cheers

Kaypee

Tried to post in another section and got the following message.

silver640, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

how does one post if I'm not allowed to post?
seems to be a Catch-22.

One of the reasons is that you need to build up some experience on the board before you can go and ask for things. But don't just post any old rubbish, you'll get better responses to your "Looking for ..." requests if you've joined in a bit in other areas and people have got to know you

Default Hello

Hi folks

I found this site by searching for BBC Trade Test Transmission films.
I can remember watching these films as a kid, especially the one about the european exhibition, Evoluon I think it's called.
I can still hear that crazy soundtrack even now.

I love film, all kinds, and over the years I have seen some odd stuff, I remember one from a long time ago, a Polish or Czech film I think called "Tomorrow I'll be scalding myself with Tea", at least that was the English translation.
A weird movie about time travel, can't recall the details but it made an impression.

The main reason for joining the forum was to try to obtain copies of some or all of the BBC Trade Test transmission films and relive a little bit of my childhood.
I saw a few threads about them on your form but they all seem to be a good few years old now, 2005 / 2006.

Is there anyone out there still with copies to sell ?

I don't have anything movie related to trade so I guess I'm looking to buy.

Hope to hear from someone.

Many thanks.
