Default Hi all!

Just a quick introduction from me!

I've been a big fan a British TV & film for a long time, in film most definately an obsession with the cinema of Peter Greenaway (favourite The cook and the thief or Drowning by numbers) & Carry On films of course.

In TV my major things are The Prisoner (the final episode, 'Fall Out' I regard to be the most stunning piece of TV drama ever), and Monty Python's Flying circus, which I regarded as the pinnacle of any comedy worldwide, until last month when I aquired some of the Spike Milligan 'Q' shows. I remember loving these as a teenager in the 70's, but only just last month managed to see some of them again. The speed of delivery, surrealism, and all round brilliance of Milligan (including incredibly subtle gestures, all part of the comedy which can go unnoticed) make these shows simply without parallel before or since. They're totally !!!

Default introduce myself...

Hi,folks..new here.
I go back away, started work in the late '50's in the film industry as a Customs & Excise film examiner in London. In fact, you would call them, exploitation films from America,un-censored,in fact most never saw the light of day in this country.

Wasn't all American though, foreign films from that period also came through the bonded warehouse.Namely,LA RONDE (ended with an X cert, one of the first),CLOCHMERLE (banned),MONSIEUR VINCENT,and many, many more.

During this period,I was also doing freelance press work, photographing many british film & ballet stars from the era.

After a spell in the Army, went to work at BOAC at London Airport (as it was know then),after which I joined a London evening newspaper in the early '60's.

Had the fortune of photographing MARIYLN MONROE when she was over here in 1956 making "The Prince and the Showgirl"along with Sir LAURENCE OLIVER.The pictures were published in a book which came out last year, written by Michelle Morgan (not the French star I might add).Went to a 'book signing' in London's West-End for the book launch.

Always been connected with publishing & show business since them.Anyhow, that's how I got started in the film business all those years ago.

Perhaps earlier as a boy going to the cinema with my parents.

When you gather all this knowledge you can blow holes in certain programmes made by the media on the cinema, because you were actually there at the time.

A lot of people are still alive in the same boat....

Thanks for reading.

Found this site after watching the start of the B movie series transmitted on BBC 4 as this period of film production was during my so called formative years.Unfortunately I never sawmost of the films covered in the first episode of the BBC series but the trails/excerpts looked far better than some of the stuff produced today

Hello, I'm French and I love British actors/actresses and British movies ! I enjoy very much BBC productions on television. Most of my DVDs are British movies or series. The locations, the costumes are always beautiful and Brits are the best in the world on stage and on screen !
Very happy to be here

Hi there to all,

I'm a new member who came across this excellent site whilst searching for a film title to what was probably a B movie some years ago. The film involved a murder plot using a bullet made of ice. I'll continue my search after I've browsed around these forums.

I remember a B/W film in the 50's starring Peter Reynolds which involved him making an ice bullet to commit murder. It was a B movie but sorry I can't remember the title. I've looked on IMDB but can find nothing. By the way - Welcome Robin1956.

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

Fell I'm wondering how you found this. On IMDB I searched keywords 'Ice bullet' and nothing showed up?
