Lucky you renzz! And I'm quite envious of your Mum! Fancy having Stanley Baker wondering about your house! Even I'd get out the apron if he turned up for tea and cake! ;-)

I'm still hoping for a directors cut with our yard in That would be something if the footage still existed after 40 years.

My Mum still talks about how nice they all were, especially Stanley Baker - he was a proper gentleman of the old school.

Hi, I am nightwitch, and I am here to introduce myself. I would not go so far as to say I am a tele adddict, but there are somethings I enjoy on the old box, or did, unfortunately the standard of programme is below rubbish, and from the bbc point of view the licence is extortionate because we do not even get value for money. I have to say, the programes of the seventies and eighties were better than alot of the mindless tripe shown today. Historical dramas are not even researched properly, which rather demenes our history. Still that is my point made, look forward to future discussions.

Hi I came across this site while trying to track down a copy of Alan Plater's Land of Green Ginger. Great site - already reminded me of so many great films and tv dramas I've watched and would like to re-watch. So, er, hello!

Hello all,

I'm an avid collector of anthology series...Tales From The Darkside, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Monsters, Tales Of The Unexpected, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and others.

I found this site, quite by accident, while searching for a few series that I would like to add to my collection: World's Beyond, Out Of The Unknown, and Evil Touch. Actually, I never heard of these series before. As luck would have it, I discovered them by chance while searching for another anthology series, Journey To The Unknown.

When I clicked on the link, I learned that a user here has all 12 episodes of World's Beyond. I thought only 8 episodes still existed.

If anyone has this series (or the others: OOTU or ET) in its entirety, I'm sure I would have a series or movie that would interest that person. It seems these titles are very hard to come by. I heard many of these great programs were erased or otherwise destroyed.

Thanks in advance!

John

Hello there! If you don't know me I've been a poster on CMF, AVManiacs, Classic Horror Films, Lovelockandload, etc. Particularly a fan of Britmovies from the fifties to the seventies (my favourite decade for film in general) and a big fan of Hammer and Amicus. Favourite Brit actors include Stanley Baker, Oliver Reed and Malcolm McDowell.

Last two Brit DVD's bought were 'Robbery' and 'Seven days to noon'.

Smile Hello

This is a great site. I shall enjoy using it!
I have just bought a video to DVD cutter and I hope to use it to copy some of my old videos onto DVD.
At the moment I am looking through the "Looking for a Video/DVD (TV)" posts in the hope that I might have something that someone else wants!
I have about 120 VHS videos dating back to 1982.
It's quite an odd collection with things like:
The Visit of Pope John Paul II to the UK
A few programmes about Benjamin Britten & Peter Pears
Quite a few programmes about being gay such as "The Six of Hearts", "If they asked for a lion tamer" and "The two of us".
I am also interested in the London Underground and have a poor quality recording of the South Bank Show: “The Underground” and some good quality recordings of the “Making of Modern London” series when it was about London Transport.
I have often catalogued the original Radio or TV Times cutting and any articles or photographs (I think I need to get out more!).
I have an interest in choirs too and have a few “choral” type programmes including the odd “Songs of Praise” or “Eucharist”. Also the Michael Williams play “Angel Voices”.
It seems a great shame not to share these with others!
So let me know if I can help and I will search my archive for you.

Smile New Academic

Hi All,
I`ve browsed through your site many times but not ever found the time to join up!
I`m an academic writing on British film and, sorry to say, my self-imposed workload will mean that I`m never going to be what you may call a prolific poster. I do like to see what people are discussing from time to time, though.
It has to be said that my main purpose in signing up is in desperation to find some British films which just don't seem to be available anywhere.
I mainly have interest in the 40s and 50s and have built up a reasonable collection of films over time (a lot of American films from the same era too). I have particular interest in Women In Film (note the capitals ).
I hope to get to know you all a little bit over the next months (years?) and one day look forward to maybe some mutually convenient swaps.
I've read a lot of the warning posts etc so in case I have attracted any attention from the 'wrong sort', let me say now that I will not 'swap' any film that has been released and is available on DVD or VHS (that includes films you can still find second-hand). I'm not interested in buying or selling films. Single swaps only until we become more closely acquainted :)
That rather miserable disclaimer out of the way, I look forward to contributing to the forum where I can and getting to know you all a bit better.
SYL...

PS My avatar is of my two favourite actors :)
