It certainly is ..... the Trust I work for spent ages setting up The 'Clozaril' Clinic. They spent a fortune on special notepaper and record books etc. Just before it opened it was pointed out to them that 'Clozaril' was the trade name for Clozapine and our new clinic wasn't using clozapine, but a cheaper version called Denzapine and the company that made Denzapine wouldn't process any blood test request with the word 'Clozaril' on it. I didn't laugh .... promise!

Newbie here from Oz. Always been interested in Brit film and TV (esp. the Ashes... when we're winning ). Favourites include Loach, Roeg, D. Potter, John Byrne and the current crop of producers of "State of Play", "Spooks" et al.

Alas, we get precious little quality British stuff on Oz FTA TV these days - trawling through the BBC program lists makes one very envious.

Looking forward to contributing where I can, and making acquaintances.

If you're trying to post in the Looking for a Video part of the forum you need to have made three posts before you can do this, all is explained in the Forum Rules section.

Default Introduction from a new member

Hi,

My name is Chris, my main interest is in Vintage TV and Video but i also have an interest in the Test Cards and Transmissions of those early years.
I spent many a happy hour adjusting Philips G8 convergance to the sight and sound of the testcards.
All time fav films for me include, Get Carter, Italian Job, the Thirty Nine Steps.

Get Carter was filmed in my home City of Newcastle upon Tyne and it is great to be able to identify the various landmarks, and in some cases the great changes made to them since the film was made.is.

All the best,

Chris.

Default Hi I'm new

Hi I have come across this site several times before and decided to join late last night, around 4ish (was unable to sleep as awaiting my daughters A level results today - she has to pass I've already bought all the first year text books for Uni at the not inconsiderable cost of £376) Anyway I love films of all types and would be interested in anyones recommedation of British films that are a must see. For the record I particularly like films from the 30s-50s, particularly love the Ealing comedies as well as The 49th Parallel, Went The Day Well, This Happy Breed etc, that type of film if anyone has any suggestion I would love to hear them.
Thanks
Raylyn
PS Phew she got what she needed, so lookout Northampton!

Welcome Raylyn,

There's a mine of information and opinions buried in the forum, and if you want suggestions on a genre/period just start a thread and they'll come thick and fast.
