Hello everyone, just thought I'd introduce myself.

Been reading the site, and infact been a member for a while now so thought I'd better start posting!

Anyway, I'm 18 and over the last few years have developed a love for film with British films being among my favourites. My biggest interest is in Social Realism and the Kitchen Sink dramas. Powell and Pressburger are another favourite of mine.

I like forward to joining in the discussions.

Default The Original Saint Films

Hi Everyone,

I came here to track down an old Saint movie, The Saint's Return (aka The Saint's Girl Friday in the USA) (1953) starring Louis Hayward and featuring Diana Dors in an early role.

RKO (I think) produced 9 Saint movies between 1938 and 1953 and starring various actors, principally George Sanders. The last one of which is the one I'm interested in. Louis Hayward also starred in the first of these, The Saint in New York, and was IMHO far more suited to the Saint than George Sanders!

Some years ago BBC2 screened a season of these films but omitted the last one
so I'm interested in catching up with it.

From what I've seen of this forum on this first day, it should prove very interesting and I hope to post more soon.

Smile Hi!

Hi, I'm a new member. Found this site through a site specially for the British actor, John Gregson, whilst trying to find info on someone in one of his classic films from '56. I learnt he is now deceased since 1976.

I will post my question in the correct forum, and try to drop in to have a look at the other ones. There is a lot to look at and a lot to read about setting options etc, but everything looks very interesting, and I'm sure I'll learn something new.

Noticed a few UK people here in the bits I have looked at. I've been in Oz for over 40yrs since March '67! Came when I was 20yrs! Now have three grown-up Aussies with accent to match! I have retained my Yorkshire one, I'm pleased to say! I'll look forward to joining in some discussions, if I get a chance!

Default introducing myself

Hi all, just to quickly introduce myself; i have just retired reaching the good old age of 65. I live in devon; and now have time on my hands to start persuing some hobbies. I like british humour/comedy films; as they appeal more to our sense of humour.

Default Hi everyone

Looks like an excellent site, nice to be here.

Funnily enough I came to this site hoping for information on where to get "I Start Counting" one of my fave flicks & i see it featured on the front page!

Can it be bought?

Cheers

Default Well, hello there!

I hope nobody minds me poking my head around the door here and saying hello?

Just wanted to introduce myself and say a big "HELLO" to everyone. I noticed there was room for a little extra Brit-movie discussion on here so was hoping to fill the gap as it were (i was going to say "fill the void" but figured that could be taken offensively, as though my meaning was that there was some kind of vacuous element here! lol).

I don't get the time to post on the 2 or 3 forums i am a member of as much as i would like to but here's hoping that i can jump on here around a couple of times a week and enjoy some rousing chat with you fellow cinephiles, eh?
