Hullo! I’ve been dithering about joining this forum for a while & have finally taken the plunge. I’m a big fan of Brit movies & Brit TV especially horror & TV SF/Fantasy. I’m hoping this will be fun & I won’t bore anyone too much! :)

Hi,

Vlad is my real name and I've been hopelessly addicted to British television and film my entire life. I do work in US tv and am a bit of a 'mad man.'

Default Hello and my first film

Hello everyone

I have completed making my first film. I have taken various screenwriting courses and am just about to complete post grad in screenwriting. The film was made as test and not to be taken too seriously. Shot and edited on a mobile and cost nothing to make. I just wanted to create something. Be warned the film contains a lot of swearing. Too much in my opinion, but that's what happens when you use your friends as actors. Please comment and rate video with your views. Thanks.

Good luck to everyone you has a dream. If you give it a shot, it might come true.

Hello Everyone
I could't find an Intro page so thought I'd post something anyway.I like A Canterbury Tale, It Always Rains on Sunday, The Long Memory, Nowhere to Go, Father Brown, Hell Drivers, The Day the Earth Caught Fire, Night of the Demon, Pool of London............you all know the rest. I would like to get hold of copies of They Came to a City, Valley of Eagles and anything else interesting from 40's, 50's and early 60's. Also I am doing a Phd on masculinity and british television in the 70's lookinf at Survivors, Gangsters, Budgie, Likely Lads, etc etc - if anyone has any thoughts or interesting links, they would be much appreciated.
Finally - I went on the A Canterbury Tale locations walk organised by Steve Crook and Paul Tritton a couple of days ago - it happens the last sunday every august - it was fantastic - highly recommended

Welcome Nigel, Haven't made the walk for a few years....glad it went well. If you're doing 70's TV masculinity, I assume you've got Special Branch and The Sweeney in there somewhere.....

Default getcloser says hello

Hello

getcloser is HMV's new Social Discovery website, and I hope you don't mind if I stick my head in here on occasion to give you guys a heads up on any film related footage that goes up on our site.

Its not going to be spam, its not gonna be bull. Basically if I post a link up here, I'm pretty sure it will be of interest to some of you.

Thank you.

Hi Steve
I thought relaxed rather than chaotic would be a better description . Both my wife and I enjoyed the day immensely. As I walked up those steps in the town hall i almost expected to see Eric Portman sitting there! We've been on the Chillam walk a couple of years ago, but were rather shamed by the fact that several people considerably older than ourselves were sprinting across the countryside like gazelles, while we were puffing away like old steam engines!
Anyway many thanks for thw day, it was a truly spiritual experience for us
Cheers
Nigel
