Yes, I'm a very common person here-! (I've never met those two, or seen them. Jerry Hall is from the Dallas area, 200 miles away, and probably my least favorite area of the State; Houston would be right there, too - they're both got all the cultural benefits of giant parking lots as far as I can tell. Strip malls and parking lots.) Corpus Christi is a nicer place but we actually head for the coastal towns another 30 minutes past Corpus. Palm trees, sand and shrimp off the boat.

Those little towns don't have a lot of shoe salesmen, though. We walk into a food market and they'll usually sell flip-flops in a bin, and I match some up to the bottom of my feet - voila - new shoes! Fit for every dining experience along the coast - well, if you have to wear shoes at all...

We've got 5 cats in our neighborhood - 3 friendlies and 2 unfriendlies ("I'll let you pet me only as long as I want, and then I won't leave without a swat or a hiss" - grrr). The friendlies disappointed my husband who thought he'd made a fortune in the PCSL (Professional Cat Soccer League), because he spent time teaching them to chase a paper-ball. Unfortunately, even with videotaped training sessions for them, he was never able to teach them rules or even effective scoring. It's one of his biggest disappointments, he said. Then he asks me to sew little colors and ties for them. And I can't believe I do it!

He wasn't too precise on their projected salaries, but calculated his standard agent's fee of 98% would be enough to 'cover his costs of wadded-up newspaper' that he used for soccer training. Oh yes, the man's a REAL spendaholic. Oh yeah...

He said he was fairly certain he'd host a World Cup every two years, inserting the worldwide TV coverage between the two Olympic years, and letting the 'other' World Cup suck up the last drop of interest and advertising dollars.

Well, that's what he said...

By the way, I'm also the only sane person in our household, too.
