Default Chat rooms

Hi everyone,

As a total newcomer to the internet (I know, can you believe it?! 2007!), I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a good realtime chat room where I can talk about British (and classic American) movies, comedy, music and books with likeminded people? Any suggestions gratefully accepted!

There's lots of film-related irc chatrooms.

Hi LA Woman and welcome to this particular piece of cyberspace.
I've been surfing for around 16 years and I didn't understand the above reply!

You may want to try something like Film And TV Chat room - UK
but chat rooms can be overwhelming and strange places. Before you register use a name that can be used by either a man or a woman so you don't get pestered by people whose only interest in film is porn.

I would suggest you hang around here for a while and suss out a lot of the old threads. There's bound to be something in here that floats your boat and threads are often revived as a newbie has more questions and answers - after all, everyone on this forum was once a newbie.

Best wishes

Good advice by Sam Boone.

It is better to start in Fora before you advance to Chat Rooms. I'm an old timer to the internet and fora... and I still prefer Fora. In many Fora its difficult to find intelligent conversation... its even more difficult, if not impossible, in a Chat room.

This forum is a good place. (I'm speaking as a newbie here).
