Default Humble apologies

Sorry for the downtime folks. There's a slight server issue (still outstanding) that we are trying to determine whether it is software related or a hardware issue. Hopefully we can quickly trace it and undergo a repair during the early hours.

Sorry again, Ste.

Those that log-on for the moonlight shift are a bit like the trio of staff in Nightingales.

I see you must have been watching the complete Nightingales DVD's I sent you.

Good to see the forum back online, not been able to get the page to load for 24 hours.

Great to see the Forum back ... would it not be a good idea to e-mail the members to let them know, lest they begin to drift away!?

Right I'd best explain.

We've been stuck between two posts; the forum suppliers blaming the host, and the host blaming the forum architecture. Within 24hrs the server was maxxing out of memory and crashing, and these were causing forum errors. Anyhow, I eventually decided the host was at fault and we have subsequently moved to a dedicated server with a new host. Unfortunately the switch coincided with a weekend of maintenance by the domain name registrars.

The domain will take 24-48hrs to propagate around the net. Some functions may not yet work as I'm still configuring the site.

I'll probably close it late tonight then open again in the morning. It's still propogating round the net and I'm still seeing the maintainance page on my connection (I'm seeing it via the server control panel).

It's Batman I'm worried about. I hope he hasn't done anything drastic.

Sounds as though there's been quite a few problems getting back on line. It's great to be back and my thanks go to all those who worked so hard to sort it all out.
