British actress Yolande Palfrey has died of a brain tumour at the age of 54, according to a death notice in this week's Stage.

Beloved by Dr Who fans as Janet The Space Waitress in Terror of the Vervoids, she also crops up in Blake's 7, Pennies from Heaven, Dragonslayer, Shelley, Nanny, You Rang M'Lord, and much more besides.

Sad news. I love the Vervoid story for all its silliness, and Ms Palfrey makes the most of a very underwritten part.

It's a tough time for DW fans, of late.

It doesn't seem to be on The Stage's web site. Can you scan a paper copy of The Stage and post the scan here, and I'll use it as evidence for submitting the death to IMDB.

Are Yolande Palfrey and Yolanda Vazquez one and the same person?

I have seem some evidence to suggest so.

either way RIP to a lovely lady

They don't look like the same woman to me. Their credits on IMDb overlap too, so unless she was acting under both names. The eye colour looks different as well.

    R.I.P. Yolande Palfrey.

Sorry: I only read the paper in the library, so can't scan it! It's a death notice rather than an obit.

IMDB seems to cross-contaminate Ms Vazquez with the late Ms Palfrey. They're definitely different people. Ms Vazquez is in a Poirot as an Argentine singer, and is certainly not the "English Rose" that ms Palfrey is/was.
