I've got both of his Hammer Horror film novelisations.
I was sorry to read that the British author John Burke has died. I've found no obituary, but today The Guardian reports his death in Kirkcudbright, Scotland on 20th September.
John was prolific and wrote countless novelisations of British films and television shows:

I recently watched Nurse on Wheels again and just found out that John wrote the novel on which it was based - under the name of Joanna Jones!
Several films and television episodes were based on his stories or ideas. He was also a scriptwriter, but I suspect the listings at IMDB and the BFI aren't complete:

I remember watching The Corpse Can't Play episode (based on John's story Party Games) from the 1968 BBC series Late Night Horror. I seem to recall that it caused something of a furore back in the day - not surprizing really! There are still images vivid in my mind to this day from the Late Night Horror series. That it apparently no longer exists is an absolute tragedy.
